About Canipep

What is Canipep?

Canipep is the research and advocacy community around peptide science for dogs. Its heart is Fieldnotes: private, dated dog journals with linked receipts, reviewed before anything becomes public. Canipep publishes the research library, the reading method and the editorial standards, and sponsors the six Canitide study notebooks.

Can I buy Canitide products here?

No. Canipep does not sell anything. Canitide formulas are made and sold by our sister company, Canitide. You can reserve there now; nothing is charged until the order ships.

What is the relationship between Canipep and Canitide?

Same founders, two jobs. Canitide builds and sells the Canitide Pen and formulas. Canipep keeps the record and asks the questions. Canitide sponsors its study notebooks on Fieldnotes and that sponsorship is labeled wherever it appears. Sponsorship does not decide which journals are published.

Do I need to use a peptide to join Fieldnotes?

No. Many of the most useful journals record everyday life and existing care. Fieldnotes never recommends starting or changing a treatment.

Research and evidence

Are Canitide products approved medicines?

No. None of the peptides in Canitide formulas are FDA-approved drugs for animals or people. They are sold for research purposes. No controlled canine clinical trials have been completed. The research page explains why a study, a quality test and a product approval are different things.

Can you tell me which peptide or dose is right for my dog?

No. Canipep does not select treatments or give doses. Canitide publishes weight-band dosing cards for its own formulas; Fieldnotes only records what an owner actually did. Health decisions belong with a licensed veterinarian who knows your dog.

Does a “research use only” label make a product suitable for dogs?

No. A label does not establish safety or effectiveness. We say so on every research card, and Canitide says so on every product page.

Where are the certificates of analysis?

Canitide publishes each production lot’s certificate at canitide.com/quality as lots are released, and links it from the QR on every label. Canipep links to them and does not host them; our certificate guide explains what they can and cannot tell you.

Does the pen have regulatory clearance?

The Canitide Pen is a reusable dial-dose pen built to the ISO 11608 cartridge format. It is not an FDA-cleared medical device, and the formulas it dispenses are not approved drugs. Details are on canitide.com/pen.
