Who is speaking
Canipep operates this website and Fieldnotes. Our sister company Canitide makes and sells the formulas and sponsors the Canitide study notebooks here. We have a commercial interest in this field, and our educational material and community platform should be read with that interest in view. Canipep itself sells nothing and does not place purchase links inside journals.
Material attributed to Canipep is prepared by the organization. We do not imply independent veterinary authorship, a clinical advisory board or peer review. If an identified professional contributes or reviews a future article, we will state the role, scope of review, date and relevant relationship with their permission.
How we use sources
For scientific or regulatory claims, we aim to link directly to primary papers or official guidance. We distinguish the material studied, species, setting, measurement and finding from interpretations or unanswered questions. A source about an ingredient is not evidence for an untested finished product or combination.
Our reading lists are selected introductions, not systematic reviews. An absence from a list does not establish an absence of evidence. Publication, citation and source checking do not substitute for independent replication or clinical validation.
What a community record means
Fieldnotes contains contributor-reported observations. Publication review addresses suitability for sharing; it does not verify clinical accuracy or turn a journal into a controlled trial. Positive, unchanged, negative and incomplete experiences should be evaluated under the same publication criteria.
We do not invent cases, endorsements or outcomes to populate the dashboard. A hash can help check record consistency; it cannot prove the truth of a report. Self-selection, incomplete follow-up and differences between dogs and methods remain relevant when viewing results.
Commercial relationships and advertising
The Canitide study notebooks are sponsored by Canitide and labeled as such. They are not independent endorsements or active treatment studies. Any paid advertising or sponsored placement will be labeled where it appears. A sponsor, including Canitide, is not permitted to choose which participant outcomes are published or to buy a favorable conclusion.
Private journals and health observations are not advertising inventory. We do not sell private journal data or use it to target advertisements. See the privacy policy for how information is handled.
Corrections and updates
To flag an error, send the page URL, the statement in question and a supporting source through the contact page or hello@canipep.com. Please leave out private patient records. Material corrections to research articles should identify what changed and when; new interpretation should not silently replace an earlier claim.
Start with the record
Use the evidence-reading checklist to examine a paper, the dog observation guide to keep clearer notes, or Fieldnotes to explore how the community works.
