Peptides are short chains of amino acids. Different peptides have different biological roles, and the word itself does not tell you whether a product is safe, effective or suitable for a dog.
Begin with the actual study
Was the work done in cells, rodents, people or dogs? What material was used? What did the researchers measure? A result in one setting is a reason for further study, not a ready-made instruction for another.
Separate the ingredient from the product
A paper about an ingredient cannot verify a commercial product’s identity, formulation, storage conditions or performance. Those require separate documentation.
Bring better questions to your veterinarian
Ask what evidence supports an option for your dog, what risks are known, what remains uncertain and what established alternatives are available.
